MISSION STATEMENT

To develop and maintain an economic climate which will create jobs and enhance the quality of life for all citizens of the Horn Lake area.

GOALS & OBJECTIVES

To continue increasing Chamber membership, generating participation and income.

 

To maintain and increase jobs and expand the tax base of the City of Horn Lake by recruiting commercial, retail, professional and residential businesses.

 

To develop and improve work skills of potential workforce through training and improving customer service.

 

To support the City of Horn Lake committees on signs, cleanup and community pride awards.

 

To promote and enhance the image of the Horn Lake area.

A RIBBON CUTTING WAS HELD ON 3-13 AT GATEWAY TIRE AND SERVICE CENTER LOCATED AT 4719 HIGHWAY 51 NORTH.  PRESENT WERE FROM LEFT, ALAN WHITSITT, DON HIBBITS, PAM BAKER, BILL RENOVITCH, ALDERMEN JOHN JONES AND TOM POLZIN, MAYOR NAT BAKER, OWNER RICHARD DUNLAP, MANAGER ALLEN ANTHONY, FRANCIS MILLER, ASST. MANAGER TERENCE OUCOIN, TIM CUTBERTH, JACKIE NICHOLS, JENNIFER SOUTHERN, JOEY CRESPINO, AND LARRY WITHERSPOON

   

HORN LAKE CHAMBER OF COMMERCE BOARD MEMBER JOEY CRESPINO OF THE DESOTO CIVIC CENTER RECENTLY PARTICIPATED IN THE FIRST HORN LAKE ELEMENTARY CAREER DAY PRODUCED BY OUR VERY OWN EDUCATION COMMITTEE.  JOEY'S JOB WAS TO GET THE IDEA OF WHAT MARKETING IS ACROSS TO APPROXIMATELY 1,000 FIRSTTHROUGH THIRD GRADERS.  PRESENTERS INCLUDED THE FIRE AND POLICE DEPARTMENTS, ENTERGY, SILVER STAR CUSTOMS, AND OPEN ARMS ANIMAL HOSPITAL.

   

A GROUND BREAKING WAS HELD RECENTLY FOR THE NEW BEST WESTERN HOTEL THAT WILL BE LOCATED ON WINDCHASE DRIVE NEXT TO TRACTOR SUPPLY.  PRESENT FOR THE EVENT FROM LEFT WERE CO-OWNER NILESH PATEL, DALE WILSON, CO-OWNER MIKE PATEL, MAYOR NAT BAKER, CHAMBER BOARD MEMBER TINA STOKES, ALDERMAN TOM POLZIN , AND CHAMBER EXECUTIVE DIRECTOR LARRY WITHERSPOON.

   
TO MARK THE START OF THE "GREAT AMERICAN CLEANUP" VOLUNTEERS FROM "KEEP HORN LAKE BEAUTIFUL", THE CHAMBER'S "DOORWAY TO MISSISSIPPI" COMMITTEE, STUDENTS FROM HORN LAKE HIGH SCHOOL, AND MEMBERS OF "CAMPUS GREEN" FROM NORTHWEST MISSISSIPPI COMMUNITY COLLEGE CLEANED UP ALONG HIGHWAY 302 FROM I-55 TO HIGHWAY 51 AND SOUTH ON HIGHWAY 51 TO NAIL ROAD.  LUNCH WAS PROVIDE AFTERWARD BY MCDONALDS AND MULLIGANS.
